Having followed the work of Dr. Schumann, I was honored to have the opportunity to speak with her in person and remember as she introduced herself how humbled I was that she took genuine interest in me and my work. As I listened to the vision of Nurses International, I was inspired by the unique opportunity to mobilize global nursing talents and make a difference on a world-wide scale.”

Wednesday, May 4, 2016

Excitement is in the air, as the Nurses International team prepares for the first Annual Faculty Conference in Minneapolis, MN on Friday, May 27th through Sunday, May 29th.  This year the faculty will be focused on ensuring that the graduate programs meet the highest educational standards and comparing the undergraduate program to the Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) Essentials. There will be a discussion on the two tracks of the graduate curriculum - Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Education as well as content mapping of the undergraduate curriculum.

Faculty members, many meeting for the first time, will be able to connect, collaborate, and support each other as they pursue excellence as nurse educators.
As always, our programs are rooted in Christian faith and a strong belief that Christ intended his followers to bring holistic redemption to the suffering places in the world. Our aim is to prepare nurses to effectively confront the physical challenges of the communities they serve while demonstrating the fullness of their faith in the relationships developed in their communities.
Nurses International supporters from around the world will have the opportunity to join the conference and meet the faculty on Friday, May 27th at 8:30 pm CDT via a teleconferencing link. The link will be posted to the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/nursesinternational/ the day of the conference as well as sent to the email addresses of Nurses International supporters. Trailblazers

Nurses International:
Trailblazers for Nursing Education & Advocacy

By Alina Thomas

Nurses International is making great strides in international nursing relief and striving to bridge the gap that often leads to health care disparities. Developing regions, such as the African Republic of Burundi, have limited capacity and means to educational development.

The need for nursing educators worldwide is continuously growing, and Nurses International is transforming the way nursing educators deliver curriculum around the world. By creating nursing curriculum and educational tools for nursing programs in the developing world, they are training more nursing professionals to set forth and provide skilled assistance and spiritual inspiration to the ill, such as with their pilot project in Burundi.

The organization is rooted in faith and centers Christ at the core of its international efforts. They ultimately communicate the message of hope, redemption, and compassion through a network of healthcare professionals who work toward transformational community development.
